Skimming
Skimcoat is a gypsum based plaster for
finishing over sand and cement or plasterboard. It is put on in two coats with a
trowel. it must be three to four mm thick and be troweled several times to get
the perfect finish. Skimcoat is normally mixed with a drill but can also be
mixed with hand tools.It takes about three hours per gage but will not paint for
at least a week.
Dry-lining
Dry lining is broadly defined
according to its use of plasterboard on timber or metal frames.As opposed to
conventional to conventional brick or block built with lat or plaster (wet
trade) . Dry lining is essentially dry. Strictly speaking dry lining is the use
of plasterboard to substitute for sand and cement or wet plaster.
